Jesus and Bible Must Come First
Awhile back came the news that the Young Women's Christian Association – the YWCA – has named Patricia Ireland, former head of the National Organization for Women, as its new president. Rebecca Hagelin did a column in which she talks about the history of both NOW and the YWCA. If you have not read it you might want to. Now the YWCA can name whoever they want as their leader but my fear is this so called Christian group will now become a mouth piece for NOW. Now I know there are some folks who call themselves Christians who back Abortion rights like NOW does and I cannot judge their hearts far as God goes. However I do question if they are in the word of God and if they are obeying the Bible because the Bible tells us God made us. It also says He (God) knew us before we were even born. My trouble is the lady they have named will not even call herself a Christian. When asked on FOX news if she was a Christian she would not even answer the question. If the YWCA still thinks of itself as a Christian group why would it name a lady who will not even admit that she is a Christian. The Bible and Jesus must come first in all Christian groups if they want the blessing of God. Today we have so called Christian groups saying it does not matter what the Bible says. There are some churches who are putting gays in leadership who see nothing wrong with the way they are living. There are spiritual leaders living in sin. There are even some spiritual leaders/Pastors who are teaching there are many roads and ways to God. I read a letter that was written in which a Pastor on tv said that Allah and God were the same. Pat Roberson said this in reply to that question, "Under no circumstances is Jehovah, the God of the Bible, and Allah, of the Koran, the same. First of all, the God of the Bible is a God of love and redemption, who sent His Son into the world to die for our sins. Allah tells people to die for him in order to get salvation, but there is no understanding of salvation." No matter what the issue is we need to look to the Bible and Jesus. I recall years ago I was watching Christian tv and some folks were upset with this person because he started to dress up like a motorcycle guy so the head of the network said he would let people call it and vote if the man should stay on the channel. My thought was if the guy did something that went against the Bible take him off but do not take a vote. However if what he did was not against the Bible do not take him off. There are some issues in which every person in the body of Christ has freedom to make up their own minds. Though on issues like salvation, how Christians are to live, and who Jesus is we should not be able to decide who God is. God decides who God is and He is not going to take a vote.
