Adding The Christian Faith To Your Home Decor
Written by: Lisa Ray
There are several ways to bring the Christian Faith into your home decor. The most obvious is to add a wall cross or crucifix. Today, there are many styles and materials from which to choose. Crosses and crucifixes made from wrought-iron, other metals, wood, plaster, plastic, ceramic, and porcelain are not uncommon. Many artisans create one-of-kind handmade or handpainted crosses. Of course, more traditional crosses are available as well.
Others like to add a touch of faith to their home decor by displaying religious figurines. Angels are probably the most popular, but a wide array of religious figurines is also available for purchase in most Christian bookstores. These small touches not only add a bit of Faith to your decor, but can be fun to collect as well.
Perhaps you have a favorite verse or psalm? Why not have it displayed in your living room or bedroom? Biblical verses can be displayed on wood engravings, handpainted signs, and even candles.
A less common approach to blending Faith with home decorating is to prominently display a unique Bible. Perhaps you have an antique Bible or a cherished family Bible that you keep hidden away in a drawer. Displaying the Bible on a book stand or end table not only brings the spiritual into your room, it also adds a personal touch that cannot be found at your local retail outlet.
Another great way to add Faith to your home decor is through wall art. There is an abundance of original artwork and prints with a Christian inspiration. A framed leaf from an antique Bible is a unique piece. Antique biblical prints offer a less costly alternative.
Whichever option you choose, bringing the Christian Faith into your home decor is easy to do and serves as a reminder that Faith strengthens the home.
